oxyge sensor problem
well..I bought new sensors for my 97 Discovery and get this....the plug in are different and i cant return of exchange them, so i thought maybe i cut the plugs and connect them direct, but the color codes are different on the harness than the are on the plug, I know it sound like some kinda Mickey mouse wiring job I'm trying to do, but my question is...does anyone know the color codes on the end plug of the oxygen sensor of a 97 discover and how there set up on the plug? help would be appreciated

RAVE rescue! Here is schematic, with wire colors, for wiring, and the connectors. The C112 and 113 are front and C1019 and 1020 are rear I think.
You will of course demand your swivel rights for a copy of the RAVE without oil stains, download in my signature.
The three wire ties one side of heater to the signal wire to make a common ground.
You may not get this to work, you would have to ask yourself if they were the same sensor, then why change wiring method?

There are 2 different oxygen sensors for the '97, advanced evaporative loss and non advanced evap loss.
You MUST know which version you have, everything parts related depends on it.

That being said, I do not know the answer to your question.

I also have a 97, but since LR made changes mid-stream, the model year alone means little. Since it is yours, you need to know whether it is AEL or pre-AEL.
After a certain VIN they are AEL. The fuel pumps are different, as well as the charcoal cannister and so forth. Get familar with your Discovery so you know which version you have.
There are lots of both out there, so maybe some else will be in need of the ones you have. I would go ahead and purchase the correct ones, if you screw up the wrong ones, you will need new one anyway.

If your Discovery I was built in October 1996 or later, it has a specific 'Evaporative Emissions Family'; that will help you determine key fuel system replacement parts like oxygen sensors, fuel pump, fuel filler cap, fuel tank and filler pipe assembly, charcoal canister and more. To identify your 'Evap. Family', check your vehicle information label under the hood on the vertical face of the hood latch panel.
