Hello all, I'm looking to install an aftermarket stereo in my 96 Discovery. I was about to purchase on before the site I was getting it from told me they recommended a PAC SOEM-4 (PAC SOEM-4 Universal 4-channel line output converter at Crutchfield.com). I have been having a hard time finding if anyone has had first hand experience with a PAC SOEM-4 and if it's really necessary. Any one out there have any advice? Thanks
Tom

Not sure about that particular device. But a word of caution, my PO installed a Sony, and connected to his choice of the two antenna cables. One cable is FM only, the other is AM/FM, so now I am FM only. These are those antennas made as part of the side cargo area windows. Can't hear talk radio, have to listen to NPR.....

You should get information from multiple sources. If you only listen to one person, you only know what they know. And while I enjoy the Car Show, there are times when I would prefer a baseball or football game instead of cooking shows. Do like the feed from the BBC late at night in our area, and the news coverage is good. just a little slanted from time to time. They have discovered the precise cause of the recent earthquake in DC - the infamous "Bush's Fault" which runs directly under Washington.
I did learn that the top of the Washington Monument is aluminum, it must have been constructed that way to deal with the extreme quantity of hot air from the building at the other end of the Mall....

No it isn't nessesary, I have an aftermarket radio and the only thing abnormal is that wires to the 4 speakers have to be run from the radio in the dash to under the passenger seat where the amp is, my amp is removed and the speaker wires are connected to an adapter that connects to the original harness that plunged into the amp. I can't help you with the adapter cause the previous owner had it installed. Hope this helps.
