Paint Color Code
Spike, I know the cost of powder coating is high on our beer budgets but man does it last a long time. It wears like iron.
When you brought up the brush bar I had no problem finding you on Grandview Parkway brother.

This is what I went off before. http://www.landroverseries.org/paint-codes.htm I brought the alpine white code(LRC.456) along with the "colour" ID. #'s. to a body shop supplier. They mixed up a quart for $90. Hope this helps.
$75 per rim, thats $375 instead of $100 plus paint.
I am seriously considering the powder coating though my friend.
They looked fine in the color you rattle canned em in. So what if it was refrigerator white. If you can get them close I don't think many would even notice the difference. They looked awesome from a distance, it was unique to see a solid steel rim on a Disco. Think about all the salt this winter...... If you have to paint them every spring then where's the savings? Powder-coating should give you several years of rust free rims and it provides one helluva base coat if you do decide to paint them later on.....eh.
I understand what you are saying.
Normal steel rims are just painted aren't they?
I think if they are painted with regular automotive paint and a good hardener and then several clear coats they will be fine.
Yes it was appliance paint, Heirloom White.
I am going to have all 5 of my rims done.
If I spread it out over 5 months it will be more manageable budget wise.
If I use regular paint I can get them painted for beer as long as I buy the paint.
Decisions decisions.
