Cool, sounds like some fun finally......

Some of us here used to be on LRO but when things went downhill we headed out to all points on the LR map. The short and simple on replacing an ECU is to buy the 10AS unit paired with it. Paul Grant is very familiar with this and you can find him here.

I tried but the guy said the vehicle was gone (junkyard), so I am screwed.

No your not. Did you contact Paul Grant? If he doesn't have a pair then try Will Tillery or Drillbit. One of them will snag a 98 ECU/10AS duo and then all you have to do is take ten minutes to install them, reconnect battery and off you go.

FYI problem solved. It had a broke reluctor tooth. Welded one on and now it is good to go, no more miss fire. I do have a high idle issue that started when I changed computors.....

Land Rover Discovery II 2 Flywheel 99 00 01 02 03 04 1999 2004 | eBay

Not sure how to post a pic, but here is a link to show you. Do I have to go to a dealer to get the values reset? I have read that before but it doesn't seem right to me. Everytime a sensor is replaced you have to reset the ECM??

Oh OK I see, the crank sensor pickup

Yes, ecm reset to reset idle , resets value in IACV

Reset adaptive values, find an Indy rover shop, takes 5 minutes should be cheap
