Damn I just got my Kingsborne wires but didn't order the separators since everyone said the 8mm fit in the stock guides.

Someone said their electrician friend said pinching won't hurt. As an electricial Manufactruing and reliablity engineer, I say that anything that compresses and possibly deforms the insulation cannot possibly be good for it. That is why I did not force my new wires into the old guides.

I plan to buy both the combo set of guides and go ahead and pick up a new set of those wires at that price.

The local Harbor Freight used to be real good about exchanges without a receipt, now they went the other way.

Most of their stuff is really substandard as far as quality goes. They o have a wide selection of crap, mostly crap but a wide selection. If you need it bad one time, it may do.

Just be sure you keep ALL the receipts so when you take it back, they don't give you more crap.

I guess I'll try find some 8mm guides locally. Otherwise it'll be another $50 in shipping/duties/hst/you name it just to get a $13 part. God I love dealing with the US/Canada Border.

Yeah, bent or pinched wires are not good. The original wire separators are only tight at the opening due to the shape, it does not pinch the wires after. You can even still/adjust slide the wires after you press them in.
I would still order the bigger wire separators with the wires, but I didn't know then and don't want to pay the shipping for just the guides now since my disco has no problems with this. I like the kingsbourne wires, but the boots on the coil side don't have that same locking feeling as the old oem wires. I didn't go with the quad plat plugs also like some people suggested, just champs & they had to be gapped. Use dielectric also.

Good to know. Maybe I'll try before I buy the guide since I'm in the same boat.

I'm going with NGK BPR6ES Coppers gapped at 0.038 myself. I'd read a number of people had problems with the +4 Platinums in the D1. Seems they are suited to the DII more.

I keep one of those in the garage. Works great for me on standard copper plugs. I really like it for small engine plugs (esp. chain saw) which get a bit fouled from time to time.

What if a citizen her sent them to you via US Mail or FedX or such?

If that would help you, I was planning on buying a set for myself anyway.

I could very easily buy an extra set and send it to you if it would help.

That would actually help a lot. The problem with most US vendors is they will only deal with UPS. UPS for Canadians is terrible. I often end up paying $50 brokerage on $10 items.

If you'd be willing, that would be much appreciated. Just have to work out an easy way for me to get the moola over to yourself.
