That's the truth! You will find more things that need attention and there will be a ton of 'might-as-well's' along the way too. That is, you might as well change the water pump, serp belt, timing chain, oil pump, plugs, wires, etc, etc.

I'm afraid to tally up my expenses at the moment but the absolute minimum is about $300 in parts and $200 in machine shop work.

Good luck to you!

Better allocate lots of money, lots of time, lots of food and drink.

Just in coolant, oil, plugs, plug wires, filters, new hoses, thermostat, other gaskets, and all the other little incidentals, hand cleaner, PB Blaster, you will spends lots more than 500 hundred bucks.

Don't forget all the 'special' tools too. Like deep-well, necked-down, 12-pt sockets...

Hi everyone! We fixed the Discovery! but I have a head gasket, valve cover and other gaskets that came with the kit we did not use. Anybody have any idea if there is a forum for selling parts or a website to sell the parts not used. We no longer own the Discovery so they are no good to me anymore. Thanks ahead of time! Manicka

It was a blown head gasket on the drivers side. Mechanic only replaced the driver side. It runs like a charm now.
