Power sun roof runs but won't open

Sounds like some damaged plastic gears inside. I am not sure I want to force it open to get to the tracks/mechanism as I might not get it closed again. Anybody had one apart? parts available? I found a post about parts but it looks to have been abandoned.

Seriously, they are more headache then they are worth.
I haven't opened mine since 2007.
You open it and it wont close, they leak, rattle, better off leaving well enough alone.
