So i need one too for my 98. Ordered this one because they say it's compatible: HFP 255LPH Fuel Pump Land Rover Discovery I 1989 - 1998

Now looking at the connections compared to another one they say is compatible they're ot the same

Any thoughts?

 

Are you referring to the electrical connections? It looks like it comes with a new harness that you need to splice in.

 

I have no idea guys, I bought a brand new drop in fuel pump so I didnt have to mess with or worry about anything.
The one I bought is a Airtex from AutoZone but it was the whole assembly.

 

Not so much electrical but fuel line connections. The one looks like female connections and the other looks like male

 

Ours should be complete drop in kits. Just odd that one would have different connections than the other

Yours will not be drop in, you will need to take apart your fuel pump assembly and remove the old pump and then install the new pump, wire harness, fuel lines etc.
Make sure you take your time and pay close attention, if anything is not right it wont work, but you wont know that until you get it all put back in the truck.

Yes, my fuel pump was almost $500, however I save my rewards points for just such a occasion.
Total with tax was just a hair over $400.

Anything plugs and plays better than a Winodws PC.
Hell, my old Sony Batamax plays on my HD tv better than my PC.

 

Mac all the way. But we're getting off topic. Hope this pump solves my problem or the rover will be out of service for who knows how long
