Default Pulling Apart a Rocker

Hey all,

trying to pull apart a rocker arm setup apart to install new, steel rockers. The first, old rocker arm came right off, but then I got to the first pedestal… and it’s not budging… is there a shim or something that I’m missing here? Should i just pry-away?

Thanks!

the shaft is likely deformed a little where the pedestals/bolts were......just be careful and try to tap it off, might help to twist as you tap, you could also try heating the pedestal a little

Maybe some penetrating oil or gasoline will help break the varnish. It will just slide on after you clean it up and put it back together.
