Why not just buy them from Summit or some such place?

Well that would be 2 different gauges most likely. You can hook up to a vac line, and there is the fuel test point on the passenger side fuel rail. I'd advise and electric sender, no point having fuel under pressure squirting out from the dash. Here's a vac gauge from my tool box. Yes it will measure FP, but not like ours (30's) and certainly not like Mercedes (two pumps in series for 70+ PSI). Cars used to come with vac gauges built in.

Do you know of a fuel pressure gauge with an electric sender that you can recommend?

well, an electric pressure gauge like VDO may work, but one issue will be with an analog scale you would be in a place on the scale where a 10% change would not show up very well (most gaugses are 0-80 or 0-100 PSI). So a digital might be better. But fuel pressure to the injector rail is not a gauge on most vehicles. It kinda works or it don't. I mentioned the Mercedes bacause if one pump fails, they won't run on the second pump, they need about 50 psi to keep chugging. They use two pumps in series to get 70 psi. And of course guys change one pump, then the other one goes out a few months later....

Savannah: Ok, thanks for the input. I've got some power loss issues under load I'm trying to troubleshoot and I talked to the local rover mechanic and he mentioned something about rigging a fuel pressure gauge from the fuel rail into the cabin with tubing to check on the pump during idle/medium/heavy load. Not sure I'm a fan of having a pressurized tube full of gasoline in the cockpit which is why I was looking at gauges with an electronic sender. But the VDO's are spendy... Might just give him the truck to diagnose. I'm watching my fuel trims on the UG but haven't seen much helpful yet.

Ron: I found this over on dweb if you want to make your own: DiscoWeb Message Boards
