Good morning,
to let you know about the outcome of the t-case lt230 and gearbox r380 modifications as we discussed some time ago.
Finally, the rebuild is done,
Sleeved the t-case and upgraded to 1.410 gear set and (ftc5042 & ftc4977 Ashcroft ) 5th gear high on the gearbox, and obviously changed a lot of other parts.
Car feels great in driving,
went steep uphill on 4th gear when usually used to drop to 2nd gear, feels much better even accelerates immediately.
Regarding the 5th high gear, it’s great when you have long roads, speed goes much higher and quickly.

A small issue, they are leaking a negligible small oil drops. Something which will be discussed with the mechanic,
Are discos possible to stop all oil leakages ?!!

Default Lt230

Hello everyone,
as discussed some time ago in this thread regarding reconditioning of both gearboxes, I loved the message that if it ain’t leaking it’s empty !!

My lt230 is leaking again, possibli from the intermediate shaft, so I’m thinking of replacing it with Ashcroft HD 300M. My concern is the o ring on the intermediate shaft. Does any, more robust ones are available ? Maybe replacing the ordinary rubber ones ?

As usual,
any help would be greatly appreciated.
