Default R380 Rebuild

Does anyone have a suggestion for a R380 rebuilder? Not Ashcroft, there shut down for a while. I have 2nd and 3rd gear syncro problems. 96 Disco J suffix. Its still very drivable but annoying . I'm in Oklahoma so somewhere within 5or 6 hours of Tulsa would be nice. But I could ship the gearbox any where or source one from the UK and eat the core charge or maybe put it on the back burner and wait for Ashcroft to start building again.

The one I'll go to if the day comes... the one and only Rob Dassler and Southwest Rovers (https://www.swrautomotive.net/).

I'm not sure how daring/confident/experienced/able to follow manuals you are, but here is a link to the rebuild manual.

Thanks for the link. I'm just to busy at the moment to even give it a try. I've got a couple of good leads and I'll post my solution hopefully next week some time.

What's the deal with Ashcroft? COVID? When I was looking a rebuilt Ashcroft from the UK, eating the core, was the same or less than Dassler after shipping two ways.

Ashcroft has a message on there site about possible being weeks behind on rebuilds when this covid stuff is behind them. They are shipping out parts still.

Today my solution arrived in a wooden crate from Ashcroft. I emailed them and asked if they had a plain jane R380 with no mods all ready built. About one hour later received an emailed that they had one. I ordered it with a clutch pack. Six days from my first email it was in Oklahoma. It was still cheaper than what I was able to find elsewhere even eating the core charge. Plus now I have a R380 core to play with.
