Default Radiator bleed screw... Son of a *****

Ok so a heater hose decide it would leak today. So I figured no big deal went to autozone to get a cheap replacement until I can order a Oem one. I got just some straight hose that would work and installed it. So I decide it's time to bleed the system. Put a wrench on that awesome plastice screw and snap... The head came off lol what's weird is I jammed a flat head screw driver in the threaded part and it unscrewed just fine.

So now my question, Does anybody know of a plug that will fit in there until I can order the Oem part? Or maybe the thread pitch and what not?

And if you bought a heater hose from auto zone then just use it. I use heater hose from autozone for heater hoses. Just make sure it is HEATER HOSE and not just rubber hose.

You might also consider up-grading to a bronze plug like many of us have on both diff fill plugs and your radiator plug.
British Parts of Utah has them.

Wrap the plug with teflon pipe tape to keep the threads from "sticking" if you ever have to unscrew it again.

It's BSPP. An NPT plug will bugger the threads.

$3.99 at Rovahfarm. You should have it in one to two days.

Well jacked the battery side of the truck up and bleed the system and put the plug I found in. Then I decided to check this thread again and realized I put a npt plug in there. So i decided to take it for a test drive and it is leaking a little from the plug.

So next question do I need to put a lot of tape in that or about two passes? Also if the truck is cold can I take this plug out and swap it or put more tape on it and put it back in or do I have to bleed it all again?

You only need to bleed it if the system is drained.
2 wounds of tape should be good.
