Default Radiator Removal

Hello forum. I am getting ready to remove my radiator and have it rodded out. I have the rave and am ready to do it. My question to all is. How long does it take to get it out? I looks fairly easy. I just need to plan so I can get it to the shop early in the morning. Thank guys.

Take it out the day before. Impossible to predict what you may run into!

see attached, about 20 minutes if I take my time. Be careful of small fittings for hoses #4, they are metal, but easily bent. Two mounting nuts and brackets off, pulls straight up. After all hoses an lines off, watch you don't loose O rings from the hard lines, will leak a little ATF and oil.

The fluid mess is the biggest issue. Be prepared. Otherwise, it's fairly straight forward. Just disconnect everything in the way.

OK LAUGH for the day. By condoms and rubber band or zip tye them over the ends as you break them loose. Keeps the oil off the floor. Old trick to keep gun dry way back when.
The big problem is if you remove the fan clutch. But we put off our pulling when the camera looked good.

Just spray down the 4 metal nuts a day before with liquid wrench or something to help break them off without tearing the threads apart.

And disposable gloves can be substituted for Mr. George's suggestion - in this application!

Buy new O-rings for the oil cooler lines, you will need four of them, 2 for the trans oil cooler and 2 for the engine oil cooler lines.

Oil Cooler Pipe "O" Ring (Part # ESR1594L) - Land Rover gaskets and seals from Atlantic British

Your local autoparts store will not have them, the radiator shop might though.
