Well now that you know the cooler is there, next time at the pick-N-pull grab another cooler and double up.
More is always better!!

RE: Using a Nissen's 64029 with the AT Cooler in a MT truck.
I remember a guy with a '95 DI a few years back used the "extra" internal cooler to create a PS Fluid Cooler.
Overkill, but still an interesting idea.
It was slick and didn't take much more than a few fittings/hoses.
If I can find the pic I'll post it.

Do these "tubular" style of oil coolers work better than the D2 style?

I confirmed my R380 has the transmission oil cooler in front of the condenser fans.
Thanks!

Just a headsup RE: the Oil Cooler Lines for both MT or AT.
Have a good look at the metal pipe sections on the lines because they like to RUST!
Once the metal gets rusty the line tends to split and leak.

I've learned that lesson the hard way once or twice so now if the lines look funky I just replace them early.
Toran, you asked about painting/coating a replacement radiator, when I replace new cooler lines I always give them a coat of paint. This has helped keep the lines from rusting and makes them last way longer.

So picked up the Nissens rad yesterday for my 5speed. What can I plug the AT cooler with? Does it need to have caps on them or will the rubber plug in it suffice?

Thanks

Mine arrived last week.
I dont trust those plastic caps, so took the radiator into the hardware store and picked up these pipe caps. The radiator has pipe threads. I dont recall the size so take it with you.
I also put some locktite on the threads for good measure.

Glad I could help.
I don't forget to burp burp to get air out of the system after filling with coolant

Ya, I've been parking it pointing up hill to get it to burp. Best way I think?
