Rear Fog light Switch Turns On Brake Lights
First time poster so feel free to shout at me if anything is wrong....
So I just got a 97 Discovery 4.0 liter and noticed the 2 lower brake lights were not functioning. The third one on the rear door works just fine. I checked and ruled out the usual bad bulbs, corrosion, and brake switch. After allot of frustrating troubleshooting I decided to just start pressing switches. Through this I figured out that the previous owner had used the rear fog light switch/ relay to run a wire to a set of bull bar lights. The lights have another switch and look to be powered off the hood fuse powerline. The line from the fog light switch appears to turn this bull bar light switch on. Anyways I noticed that the brake lights work when the rear fog light button is on. I pulled out the switch and sure enough someone had spliced some wires off the switch to run to the bull bar lights. I'm guessing they took some wire that was not supposed to be switched like a ground or something. I'm not an electrician and would like to unF(#$* this so I can have brake lights. For the time being I snipped the wire going to the bull bar so I can just leave the switch on while driving.
If anyone has a pic of the wiring on their stock switch I would like to revert it back to that. My switch has a couple red/ yellow, blue/ purple and black wires going through it.
Thanks in advance. So far this things a piece but I love it.

Attached are a few pages from the RAVE. The rear fog switch is C263 in the switch diagram. LR refers to the rear fogs as Rear Fog Guard Lamps. I also attached the wiring color diagram for reference.
Hope this helps.

Thanks jvarnadoe.
Unfortunately I may have misdiagnosed the problem. I think the Rear Fog Lights are functioning correctly.
So I'm back to square one. I don't know what to check next though. I've ruled out the brake switch as the third brake light does work (I'm assuming they use the same circuit/ switch). I've confirmed the bulbs are good as the rear fog lights work just fine and I checked all the fuzes I know of.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Might have to cough up the money for a shop on this one.
