Default Rear Fog Lights??

I hit the rear fog lights switch and it turns on my brake lights, but only when the headlights are on... What's up with that?? Did someone do some custom wiring?

They actually are there like that for a reason. They brighten the break lights so you can be seen from behind in heavy fog, keeps you from being rear ended. I like to use them on ******** who like to ride my *** I'll just flash them on and off like I'm riding my brakes.

Interesting, so if your brakelight switch failed (like mine did) could you turn on the headlights, and the rear fog lights, and get out of park?? gotta try that...

They do not make the brakes brighter, they illuminate a section of the lens not normally used with a bright bulb, at least that is how my 98 d1 is and my harness is untouched, for use in heavy fog like in UK

Or in white-outs. Had a relative follow me to a place they weren't familiar with and the fogs could be seen through the nighttime blizzard and snow-wake. They we're able to have a general idea of where the roadway went because of those lights and they commented on that fact. The Rovah was Rudolph for a night.

They are also good when traveling in groups at high speeds on gravel roads.

I tried the park release and it didn't work without hitting the brake. Just curious. Now if I can figure out what the snowflake on the heater control is for.... Button is next to the recirculate button
