Default rear sunroof question

Hi all - First time Disco owner here. I recently picked up a solid 97 Disco with a few known issues. One is the non-op fuel pump that I'm troubleshooting with the help of this forum. You guys are impressive with your knowledge. The second issue and question that I have now is about the rear sunroof. Currently the rear sunroof glass is broken out and I'm curious if the glass is the same size in the back as in the front. If so that sure helps increase my chances looking for a replacement. The other issue is the key not releasing from the switch but thats another post for another day. Thanks in advance for your help.

Keith

If it were same size would it be same part number at dealer? One of the dismantlers may be a source for you. Or a piece of Lexan (tough plexiglas) and some RTV...

D1 and D2 are the same as well as front and rear. I have various sunroof parts available including new Rover replacement rails/track/sliders as well as several glass sections. I spent quite a bit of time last year working on my sunroofs to get them operational and have plenty of parts left over.

Default thanks

great info, thanks. Once I get started digging into this I may be givving you a call. Goal is to get it weatherproof, then tackle the fuel pump. Once its running then i want to make both sunroofs serviceable. Hopefully this all happens in the next few weeks. Great forum you have here as ive had hours of reading enjoyment.

Make sure it is the fuel pump itself before you pull out a good one. Could be anything from alarm to the emergency cut-off on the firewall to a variety of other things.

And the key is simple as well.

Have you downloaded the RAVE?

Got the RAVE...Looks like a tremendous resource. Also got the key out tonight at well. I'll run a power source to the pump to try and get it to spin. If it does then I'll start tracing wires, grounds and components. Got a jumper made up for the inertial switch if needed. The only snag i ran into tonight was I couldnt get the freaking rear door open. Once i got the key out and unlocked the door it wouldnt open from the outside latch or the inside latch....One thing drops off and another gets added. Such is life in the garage though. Love the vehicle though and hope to bring her back to her former glory (or close to it). Thanks for a great place to work out these issues.
