Needle nose pliers really helped me, I thought for sure I was going to break it. Putting it back in took me 20mins of fiddling since the circuit board has to go in on an angle.

well i bought the AB kit before I knew and it was crap. the splice cap was iffy in principle and design.

i did the bypass because i didn't want to mess with the electronics/soldering iron and i could do it in 5 minutes with a spare piece of wire. it works perfectly and i havent looked back - thanks xceller.

so what have you heard is the reason not to do it? is my truck gonna blow when it hits the 10K after fix? do tell Daniel.

I am actually focusing on the same problem on my 98 Disco, the only problem I'm having is removing the wiring plugs from the unit. I tend to break things when I apply too much force and I was wondering if there are any tips for getting these things unplugged ?

I had a problem with taking the connectors off as well. I finally bit the bullet and i gently grabbed all the wires on the top connector and carefully wiggled it up and down. surprisingly it came off rather easily. same thing with the bottom connector. Then take a small screw driver and pry out the black molding around the connectors. that comes out easily as well.

i still havent heard why not do the bypass...which surely is easier and is working perfectly...unless that's what's causing my tick.

by the way, all eight of my windows are working perfectly now.

i did the bypass tonight thanks to a sketch supplied by xceller8. i now have rear windows for the first time in 2 years. well, rear window. the driver's side rear window immediately broke and is now taped in place to prevent it from falling.

shout out, xceller.

so jastutte, you have a failed regulator, most probably the white plastic roller. you know you can fix that pretty easy right? don't let it bend.

I had no rear operation, did the bypass and now one works. Haven't bothered to look into the other one yet. Motor is good, just not getting power.
