Default Remove center dash issue

Tips on removing the screw cover below the radio? I've wiggled plastic pry bars on all edges and I'm not getting anywhere?
Should I pry up? out? Which way? Workshop manual is a little vague on some of these steps
Got everything else out on my way to cleaning climate buttons/switch and amp bypass.

Thanks in advance!

That metal bar has 2 bezel screws at the front (under that small black clip in bezel below the radio itself), and if I'm mistaken it's riveted to the HVAC box. It will not just come out unless you remove the entire center dash bezel and attack the rivets holding the rear section in place. For just the small plastic bezel you push down on each tab and rotate it up and out if I remember correctly.

@Best4x4 I am removing the center dash to get to the AC button. The plastic cover above the seatbelt warning. Not the metal bar!

Step #13 I dont want to break anything!

Step 13 - Remove panel retaining screw cover.

That piece covers the screws. The attached images show the panel screw cover and the screw holes underneath.

I've been there many, many times.

Yep, Jvarnadoe is right, there's a plastic piece covering the screws. Just push it down and out to remove. Don't be like me and just yank the console out in frustration, having to glue things back together later!

Thanks @jvarnadoe I think one of the PO's glued it. the two bottom tabs snapped off pretty cleanly. It still fits nice and snug so I could care less!
