I also have a center console question. I ned to replace the ribbon and lights in the shifter and was hoping someone could pass on a little info for removing the console. Should I expect any surprises or is it a straightforward procedure? My biggest concern is with the window switches and just not breaking anything. Thanks in advance, any and all info is greatly appreciated.

 

No center console removal required. Simply pry off the black oval-shaped plastic surrounding the ribbon. Then, if you have small enough fingers you can reach in and remove the bulb and replace. Pulling back the black mat will help, too.

EDIT: Just saw you have to remove the entire ribbon. Discard my post.

 

The biggest thing to remember is you are going to have to release the e-brake cable from the handle so the handle can be moved straight up enabling the console to be lifted out of place.

 

The plastic (after many years) isn't very forgiving Take your time and you should have no worries.
