Default Repairing Latch Rear Door

Hi Folks

My rear door latch does not engage to open the door. It looks like the lever has become detached but I don't know how or where it reattaches, see picture below. Any ideas?

Thank you

Ok, so I think I have figured out at least part of the problem. The lever pointed to in the arrow needs to be reattached to a square hole (center of the area where the green metal is raised in the center part of the image but hidden . Does anybody know where I could locate a diagram or tell me how this attaches? I believe the white plastic pivot point will fit in but don't see how it will stay??!!! Thanks

check this thread, it is about replacing the door cover and gasket, but might have what you need.

Thanks! This did help. There are two "Y levers" the one that I was looking at was the "inner y lever". Amazingly, these just push in two the square mounting holes (in this case on the inner part of the door". Surprised there is not more to it, but I guess since this is only a pivot point it doesn't receive much stress. In this case it had just fallen out. It took a lot of trial and error, but if you slowly turn the white plastic bushing it pushes into place and then you put the plastic pin in. The drawings you sent were useful as they showed I had all of the pieces and that it was the same procedure to remove the outer y lever. I used a small mirror to examine the inside of the outer y lever to see how it attaches.

Thanks Again!

Mike

I was recently adjusting the latch on the rear door to stop some rattling back there. I was able to adjust the catch latch toward the front which solved a little bit of the problem. It also look like there used to be a rubber stop there as well. Can anyone confirm if they see this so I can see if I can find something to solve that part.
