Default Replacing studs or hubs?

I got three studs that are stripped and useless... two driver rear and one passenger rear......... I think I am going to try and pull some hubs off another truck rather than try to track down studs that fit and paying someone to take em out and replace them...........What is the forums thoughts on this... there are several D2's in my area and Range rovers being parted out.......Will these work on my 1999 D1? or do they need to come from another D1?

The D2 uses a different lug nut than the DI does. The studs would be a different size, not sure if the hubs are interchanable or not.

I have seen replacement studs, but I think I also saw something about only replacing 1 per wheel? Not sure why.

The Range Rover Classics are the same size lug nuts and those were solid without a stainless steel cap that comes loose like came on the DI. I have the solids on mine. If you do find one of the early RR, grab all 20 of he solid lug nuts, they will last forever unlike the capped ones. Not sure if everything else about it is the same.

I would bet the used parts guys have an abundance of replacement hubs. Check with Paul Grant or Will Tillery.

The D2 is a whole different animal. The thread size/pitch on the studs is different. Also the bolt pattern is 5 x 120 whereas the D1 is 5 x 6.5.
Not sure on the RRC hub interchangability.

Fibs, just for info, the DII had something on the order of 120 "improvements" over the DI. Hardly anything is interchangable between the two.

Using a brass drift, or press, knock out the old studs. Fit the new ones and with a reversed steel lug nut (or suitable metric nut) pull the new ones in to place. I'm pretty sure all the rover new parts vendors sell studs. Just make sure you don't get the 60mm studs.
