Check ebay, i believe that there are Audi/VW and Saab pumps that have the same PN and connector. (And are way cheaper)

I have both DI and DII pumps if you're interested. The DII pump is located with the actuator on a mount on the right wheelwell in the engine bay. A lot easier to access than the pump on the DI. The pin configuration is different between the DI and DII. DII has five pins the DI has three.

I sell pumps for $39.99 with free shipping on eBay. That's for the early DI style or the later DII style. If you buy the part directly from me I can take 10% off since I save the eBay fees. Looking at eBay for "Audi cruise control pump" shows they are the early style and the majority are selling for more than what my price is before taking advantage of the 10% discount.

Just wanted to say thank you to EricTyrrell, replaced my AMR1173 did not fix my cruise control on my Range Rover P38 4.6 HSE v8, purchased AMR5700 with pigtails from Paul Grant (thank you Paul item arrived very quick and good condition) made the adapter according to EricTyrrell recommended wiring instructions, I used part of the AMR1173 casing and it's pins - my cruise control is now working. Here is an image of the finished adapter:

Here is a link to my site showing the process on how I made the adapter:

You do not need to make the adapter just cut out the d1 plug and wire d2 in place (solder and shrink tube)

I just did this retrofit last weekend on my '99 DI and as stated previously, is quite easy. My cruise control is now working smoothly again. You only need very basic soldering skills and possibly a Dremel tool to do this in under 2 hours.

Many thanks to Paul Grant for the great priced DII CC ECU.

Thanks to Eric for this mod. I updated my 95 build thread but figure this would be a good place to document it as well.

I cut the solder joints on the back of the board to preserve as much pin as possible.

Cut off the angled part of the longer tabs and bend up the angled part on the shorter tabs for more contact.

Solder the wires to the appropriate pins.

And done(except for some liquid electrical tape)
