What would be supercool would be to build one that the sides could come off and be used like those strips you put down for crossing ditches or if you get stuck in thick sand, what are they called Sand Mats? You know the type you put under the tires if needed.

 

I saw the beautiful local lady that drives a beautiful Defender 110 today. That thing is awesome with that full pipe external roll cage that ties into a hell of a roof rack.

Take a look at those and design something similar for a Discovery with the pipe going right thru the cabin from below and above and forming a real nice roof rack as well.

 

Im going to make one soon too... its allot of work but I just cannot afford a full safari rack at this time but I can afford the metal! lol
