Rotoflex Life Span?
I installed a new rotoflex about 22k miles ago. We were on our way home after a 250 mile trip Friday night, when all of a sudden we started to hear and feel a vibration when accelerating. I nursed it home 15 miles at about 50 MPH. I started at the front of the Landie looking for the problem (which I thought might be the front drive shaft), and lo and behold, the rear rotoflex is in really rough shape. As in about to fail completely. Is one supplier better than another to source these? There is quite a price spread, and maybe I should have gone with a different one last year.
If you aren't going to convert the prop shaft, then get a GKN (Made in Germany) ONLY!!!!!!! The cheap-o's SUCK
Buy it from someone who will put eyes-on and tell you the roto is a GKN and not OEM, ALLMAKES, PROLINE, etc
You can shop around, but this is the kit> Drive Shaft Rubber Coupling (Genuine Part # TVF100010) For Land Rover Discovery & Range Rover Classic | Land Rover Wheels And Tire Parts

I doubt mine was changed, just rolled 130k. It is cracked, but barely. I have two new Britpart ones I bought for a song and dance, so if it goes I'll throw one of those in and see how long it lasts. I'll buy another OEM one if I need to.
Due to an OME lift, I think my rotoflex woes were set up for me. My first one exploded three months after buying my 1997, and the cheapie I replaced it with lasted another four months. I dropped the $260 on the Atlantic British kit and never looked back.
