Default rusty brake rotors

Hey All,

So the Disco has been sitting for about 6 weeks. Getting it ready for a beach cruise this weekend, seems thats all I use her for anymore.

Anyhoo, in the past the rotors have proven to be problematic is this situation. The usual outcome is the rotors begin to pulse a little, then after a while get so bad they need to be replaced.

Any old tricks to clean off the surface rust without creating the hard spots at the edge of the clean spot left by the pad?

6 weeks doesn't seem long enough to accumulate enough surface rust that won't be worn off with the pads. As for the edges, if the pads aren't touching there it shouldn't be a problem.
