Default "Safety" Interlocks

The other day I was driving around the back of my house to unload a new water heater. Figured I would engage low on the transfer box for sihts and grins. Ya' know, to keep everything moving under there.
Shifted in just fine. This truck has zero rust underneath (except outside foot wells).
Well, the interlock solenoid decided to quit working. Stuck in low. Have removed a couple at bone yards making my own access panel using a saws-all. Royal PITA without cutting a hole. Left forearm took a few days to recover.
It is definitely not going back in and neither is the auto shift interlock.

have you tried moving in reverse for a short bit? Having both interlocks fail simultaneously strikes me as hyper unusual.

The auto trans shift interlock hasn't failed. Yet.
Believe me, I was hoping the transfer box was in a bind but alas, it was not.
This is the second transfer solenoid to fail on me. Other truck failed in high, so no daily issue.
