Default Schrader adapter to fit Fuel Gauge?

Hello Good People,

Would anyone know where to locate such an adapter that would allow for permanent mounting of a Fuel Gauge?

Also do I need to do anything before installation since the fuel rail will be pressurized, and I am not looking forward to getting a blast of gas spraying all over.

There's not going to be a lot of pressure when pump not running particularly if it's been off for awhile.

Manual suggestions for supply line.
Position absorbent material to catch spillage
and disconnect fuel pipe from fuel rail.

My fuel pressure gauge came with the adapter. But it's just a diagnostic gauge not a permanently mounted one.

Why do you need a permanent gauge? Is it a competition truck? Anyway, if I was going to mount one permanently, I would probably T into the fuel line with an adapter rather than come off the fuel rail and have one more thing to worry about on top of the engine.

Hardly a competition truck even when dreaming!
I had an extra gauge and wanted to put it to use.
Found these images on another Rover forum that gave me the idea that it could be done.

So your thoughts are that a T adapter would be a much safer/better setup?

I guess if you have constant fuel pressure issues having the gauge there might make sense. I've not had many issues with it, so I just keep a gauge in my tool box.

When you said permanently mounted I envisioned a dash mounted gauge that you could check while driving. That's why I made the reference to competition trucks. Since that's the only time I can think of where I might care what the pressure was while I was driving.

As to the T, if I was installing a dash mounted pressure gauge, I would T into the line rather than having something screwed onto the schrader valve that can easily come loose and leak on top of a hot engine. I guess if you want it mounted to the fuel rail like in the picture, then the schrader valve would probably be your best bet. I'd just want to be sure it's not going to vibrate loose and start leaking.

But again, I don't see a reason to have a gauge on the rail, it's just one more failure point and gas is the last thing I want leaking under the hood.
