Has anyone taken one of these apart to see if they are fixable? The retract rate on my front drivers side is more than a little lazy. Most of the time the belt hangs there like a wet noodle after I unbuckle it. Just want to be sure it's not going to explode in my face if I try and service it. If it is even possible. I'm really tired of accidentally slamming it in the door.

You could try unbolt and lube, be car full there is a clock spring in there, spring could also be beat
