Default Securing Roof Light Wires along Windshield?

Hello Good People,
The time has arrived to install the lights on the roof rack.
Curious as to what material people are using to secure the wires along the windshield?
I do not want to drill any holes through the roof so taking the wires down alongside the windshield than under the hood than into the truck is the way to go.

My old 96 and my current 98 both had the windshield finisher ( weatherstrip ) attached so that the outer edge could be lifted up and there is plenty of room underneath to run a power wire ( should be able to catch a good ground through one of the roof rack attachments). Use the cross-link insulated marine wire for extra protection. Externally routed in that location, I would probably want a piece of steel tubing ( brake line ) to protect against tree branches, which could at least be painted to match either body or weatherstrip... A weatherproof strain-relief through the roof terminated to a Weatherpak connector would be my preferred method. or through the rear door area by the hinge would protect from tree scrapes also, and not quite so visible. Post a pic when you decide also - good luck!
