I really like the Montero. I think is well engineered and well balanced.

 

Well, I had to do the same thing, cut the rotors, but I would not call the job easy. Though I agree that it would have been easy if I had decided to cut at the beginning. I hammered for hours before deciding on the saw.

I had my Montero for 5 years and 100,000 miles and the only thing I ever did to it other than maintenance was a timing belt and plugs and wires at 60,000 miles.
The ONLY time it was ever in the shop was for the free oil change that I got from the dealer.
I LOVED THAT TRUCK!!
It seated 7, got high teens for MPG and the cruise still set at 120 mph. (most NAS cars cruise wont set over 85)

 

Good Lord Spike! What are you doing cruising at that speed? You should know better than that.

 

I am with Spike on this one. A man has to know the limits of its toys, just don't say where or how you found out. If pressed on the issue I would say I had the car up on a jack,

 

A guy in a new Cherokee Limited with the 5.7L H.O. tried to pass me on the right, so I punched it and that little rice burning 3.5L overhead cam 4 valve per cylinder V6 said "giddy up" and she started to move, the needle climbed from 80, to 90, then 100 and the Jeep could not longer keep up, then 110 then 120 and the needle stopped moving but the truck keep speeding up.
I set the cruise just to see if it would set and sure enough, then a mile later I slowed back down to 80.
Above 90 the truck started to "hunker down" and she really stuck to the road.

I would buy another in a heart beat.

 

I used to get mad that my 280 ZX Cruise Control would not engage above 80. We would cruise from Florida to PA overnight zipping up I95 at about 120 MPH

 

Ok. I will say this once, I peel people off of what is left of their car when they drive that fast. Or I peel other people off of what is left of their car when someone hits them at that speed. Speeding is one of many things that give me job security. No more speeding you guys! Hand slap sufficiently delivered lol. No really I would poo on myself at that speed. But then again I drive a rover and jeep. Not gonna really be seeing anything near that speed lol. Matter of fact I can't even move the rover right now lol. Not till I get the money to rod that radiator out so it will stop overheating.
