Default shock tower retaining ring to RBC100111?

Can I replace this:

with this?

because I sheared the studs on the former on my way to 24 Nm torque. It held 17 Nm but sheared around 21. I suspect the part is moonglow to begin with. I'm hoping RBC100111 is better. Any reason it wouldn't fit a D1?

The original part on D1 and RRC are know for rusting away. I don't see why a new replacement wouldn't work fine. I have no idea about the D2 part.

X3. Put them on my D1. Turns out the cone portion does its job when I get flexed out. With the original ring in there, the spring would not re-seat itself.

I bolted mine up yesterday. They worked fine, except one bolt (out of 8) broke free on the ring and turns in the rubber (this was even before the nut was fully seated much less tightened -- that's Land Rover quality for you. I imagine a spot weld on the ring failed but I can't see since it's encased in rubber. Still, I can feel the head turning around inside there so I know it's not sheared on the shaft. So they followed one lame design with a slightly better lame design. I expect that once I have the spring seated against the isolator it will put enough pressure on the loose bolt that I can torque the nut. A better design would have been to mold holes around the bolts so that standard headhead fasteners could be gripped with a socket. Even better, machine the spring seat out of aluminum and add the rubber piece if you want.
