Default Shopping For a Fuel Pump

Hey All,

Not meaning to beat a dead horse - so to speak... But I'm shopping for a new fuel pump and I'm seeking some input.

I've read through a ton of posts, some recommending the purchase of the pump alone, some recommending the purchase of the complete Plug/n/Play unit. I am leaning to towards the complete unit. I'd rather not run into problems.

My disco is the non-advanced evap system, so I hope the list below contains the correct parts.

Please let me know your thoughts on the following parts.

Recommend replacing any rubber components?

Thanks in advance for your help and input.

Trav..

Let me know if you do or don't recommend the parts and/or the distributor.

I'd probably go with the ProLine from RoversNorth. Good price and you'll get good customer service from someone with Rover experience.
Plan on replacing the sealing ring, and possibly the retaining ring if you destroy it on removal.

On my 1996 I bought that $99 unit from rovers north, but I didn't get the link lead. I didn't need it. I'm not sure why it says that it needs it. Maybe some do for some reason. I'd look at the old one and see if the connector looks the same. I did get new hardware, the olive and fitting.

Hi Guys!!
Thanks for the input.
I do have another question. I noticed on the RN website that there is a wiring harness offered. Is this harness necessary?

Thanks,
Trav...

You'll probably need some new screws to hold the metal cover over the access hole in the load space. My D1 had absolutely no rust in the body, but those screws were so rusty I had to remove them with vice grips.

Some SS screws from Lowe's do the trick.
The harness mentioned is probably the one from the pump to the drivers side rear wheel well area. As Lind as you have power to the pump you probably don't need the harness.
