should throttle bell crank be on the stop?
My 98 D1 was locking the torque converter late (55 to 58) and I thought adjusting the kickdown cable might help. The distance from the end of the kickdown cable to the crimped nipple was about 1/8” so I loosened the lock nuts and moved the cable end so it was about .035" to the crimped nipple.
The manual says to set the end of the kickdown cable so it is 1.1” (28mm) from the bracket with 6 threads showing on the back side and then adjust the throttle cable to get .040" from the KD cable end to the "crimped nipple". Adjusting only my KD cable to get the C dimension made the A dimension from the bracket to the end .910” with 11 threads showing on the back side of the bracket. It appears If the KD cable end is adjusted per the spec and the throttle cable is then adjusted to get the .040” C dimension, the throttle bell crank would be off the stop. I figured the C dimension was the more important one, but are the others also important and should the bell crank be held off the stop by the throttle cable?
