Significance of a 98 LSE
Are these somehow more valuable or historically significant in the stock Disco world? I just picked up a 98 LSE as a project vehicle. It's got extensive maintenance history and only about 100k miles. Nice paint. Nice interior. I was going to use it as my next on/off road truck. I was researching the color. Not sure I actually like it or not. I've turned up a few people saying these are rare. I feel kinda bad trimming fenders and scratching up nice paint if there is some one who'd actually want it stock.
It's "metallic white gold " if that means anything. It's got running boards. That I would ditch immediately if not sooner. Body colored bumper ends. Chrome bumpers. Rear air. Wood everywhere. Heated seats. I feel kinda bad beating it up. Although it does have some body damage on passenger fender and a few dings on the quarter/fuel door area.

Didn't you just sell a tricked out D1????
No significance. I mean maybe if it was all minty fresh in pristine condition and left bone stock it might fetch more money down the road. But that doesn't sound like your plan...

Yea. I sold my 5spd. Ugh. It's the worst feeling. I hate starting over. Especially when I'm not thrilled with this one any way. Might just get cleaned up and gone through then sold. I'd like a classic but prices are through the roof or they are inop 5 hrs away.
Lol. Always. It needs a few things as I've seen it . Once I go through it a little and clean it up I can part with it. If not I'll keep going with it.
sounds good.
98 D1 LSE in White Gold
Sorry a white gold LSE built up properly is far from FUGLY. I have a 98 LSE in Woodcote Green myself (another not so popular color) and after I lifted it, slapped on an ARB bumper, and some duratrac's it looks amazing.
The #1 thing on any D1 that looks like something from JC Whitney = Chrome Headlights. 99-02 D2 Headlights look much much better IMHO.

Now that's funny right there! It may still be around for awhile. All depends on it's temperament.
