You know, I bet that if you left the drain plug out it would accept the oil much more quickly.

Clean the valve cover. Its probably full of carbon. My 250,000 mile 97 did this until I put 160,000 mile valve covers off a 96 on it.

Easy fix to problem

Transfer one guart of oil from large container to wide mouth plastic jar. Do not use funnel. Oil goes down immediately and I don't spill any. I then refill plastic jar for next top off.

My F350 holds 14 litres 2l jugs 7 times. It's up high at the back of the engine. Feel your pain.

I need to pull my plenun and rocker covers to refresh the gaskets so I'll see what thw deal is then. I'll definitely be doing something to speed up the fill process.
