OK guys I have some news...

Pulled the plugs after running it for a while and here is what I found. Plus 4 and 8 look pretty ****ty

close up of the worst one #8

First thing I did was compression test 4 and 8 - the ones with the most build up one them - both cylinders same as what I read before around 180psi. SO then I got to thinking - if I pull the injector harness and run it does it get better? I pull cylinder 8 injector - smoke lessens significantly - pull cyl 4 injector smoke goes away completely. Rev it for a second and no smoke. Now my question is that if I still have spark in that cylinder would that be enough to burn oil? Basically by removing the fuel am I disabling the cylinders ability to burn anything or would it still burn off the oil if it were leaking in the cylinder?

I tried checking for spark and seemed to spark fine from what I could tell from checking spark by myself in the day time.

Any input or suggestions would be appreciated. I think my next step is going to be trying a new injector on each of those cylinders. If thats not it I am thinking it's valve guide seals on those two. The compression test is killing me I need to do a leakdown test too.

Your compression is fine.
Yes it will burn oil with the injector unplugged if oil were getting into that cylinder.
Like I already said you have a fueling problem.
You just need to figure out what is causing it, if you had a scanner that read live data you could see exactly what the values are on everything that effects the fuel delivery.

Without a data reading scanner you are throwing parts at it.... a scanner is a good tool to have, and works for all the other late model trucks and cars you work with.

I have scan gauge 2 - what else should I be looking for?

What I had tried to point out earlier was that several sensors can impact fuel delivery, and many of them have something to do with temperature. Like the coolant temp sensor. When unplugged it will read like -40F, but ECU thinks this is a valid reading and adjusts mixture for Siberia. So on a cold startup you can look at all those temps and see if they are "reasonable" - such as IAT being same as inside your garage, etc. You can also see if you are going open or closed loop, etc.

jake if i were you borrow someones D1 and just take ur scnguage and compare the tps @ RPM's. then i would start by swapping in parts. like savannah mentioned. mainly i would try the TPS and then the IACV. my main thing is you say it smokes when accelerating which makes me thing it's one of those 2. if that doesnt work then whosever truck u borrowed is now there to help u tear into the engine to check seals and rings.

Thanks for the advice, just saw it all.

So here's an update

Truck seemed a little slugish when trying to turn it over but still started first try.Pulled plugs, wires and coil today just waiting for the replacement to get here. When I pulled plug #8 some smoke came out - guessing piston was at bottom and exhaust valve open. Plug 8 wasnt completely crusted over like last time but it was still pretty wet, smelled it and it didnt smell strong like oil or fuel.... I check the oil and it seemed a little bit lower than before but too early to tell. Pulled the oil filler cap and found a little bit of condensation. I took a wiff and it smelled like fuel. If new coil doesnt fix it I am going to do a leak down test.

Anything else I should look at while working on it this weekend? This is very strange and I am hoping a coil or new injector fixes it but not holding my breathe..

Oh and here's a video of truck smoking, please excuse the extreme duty fan clutch. that will be gone soon too. It looks pretty dark in the video but looked blue in the sun. It doesnt smoke immediately on start up but starts after like 15-30 seconds.

Yea and you cant even tell how much based on that video. I would think that I would be losing massive amounts of some fluid or have 0 compression with that much smoke........
