Pfff.... This D1 only CAME with an auto, it's getting an R380, which I already have on a pallet with the 300tdi.

Nice little project.
My 97 has a 5 speed and a V8 stock.
So yes, D1's did come in manual. :-)

He works for a rover parts place, he know they could come that way. I think he's just saying HIS only CAME that way but isn't going to STAY that way.

What are people doing for iPod connectivity? I have a Grom in my D2, not sure if that's what people are going with.

Also speakers. Not looking for a ghettoblasting system but perhaps replacing my stock units with alpine or something nicer.

I've got a sony head unit, bypassed the factory amp, 4" fronts, 6.5" in the rear with a 12" ported sub running on about 400w. I had an enclosed 10" and it gave a hollow sound so I went ported. Nice clean/crisp sound, on all volumes. Right amount of lows, mids and highs then again I'm no audio expert

The only thing I don't want to do is change the head unit... I want everything to look close to factory.

You have to know about these guys. Since you saved all that money buying a used motor, you can splurge for a modified stock head unit!

Yessir I was hanging out with John the weekend before last in Texas. It is a bit out of my range though, the Grom was only around $80
