Someone familiar with the R380 please help...
I'm having an issue getting the clutch to engage on a '95 D1. I've bled the lines until the cows come home, still not enough. So I pulled the slave cylinder out and took a look inside. BTW, the master and slave are both new.
The picture below is of the back side of the clutch release lever from inside the bell housing (I used my bore scope camera for this).
My question is whether or not this looks normal, and what is the lever made of? It looks to be cast iron to me. For reference, in the center of the circle is the rod end, opposite of the slave cylinder.
I guess I misunderstood what the common issue with these clutch release levers is, because I was only looking at this aspect when apparently they fail at the pivot point. When I get home tonight I'm going to take another look for that. However this one looks to be of cast iron, vice stamped steel which I've seen pictures of failure.
Any input on your past experience, or suggestions of what else to check for is much appreciated.
