Default sound of water swhoosh again

just cleaned ac drain tubes on my 97 d1 but still hear the sound of water on passenger footwell side, would refrigerant make that? or is it coolant needing to be burped? i turned heat on high with compressor off for about five minutes but i still hear it, don't smell coolant and been checking for wet carpet but not much in the way of leaks [maybe a little].if it's condensation accumulating somewhere i'd like to know where to look.it has been really hot here and been running ac alot.thanks for any direction

Sounds like it's condensation in the heater box sloshing around. The drain tubes won't drain unless the hole in the box is open........ you should see water on the ground under the drain tubes when the A/C is running. Do you?

Iirc there is a center core in the drains that can be remove ed, did you do that?

I had this issue years back and pulled the cores and loads of crap came out with that water, im also thinking i flushed with fresh water somehow to get the rest out never had an issue since even with those core s reinstalled

The only 2 things that can make water noise is low sntifreeze snd water in heater box

I may have run water into the cold intake at bottom of windshield but the cores need to be pulled from both drains in the trans tunnel, if u never pulled those cores thats the problem

The box is two halves with the bottom being basically a catch pan. It's been at least 8 years ago since I cleaned mine out for the same reason, water sloshing. The console isn't that hard to remove but I can't remember if it was already removed or left in place. The plugs are like a Handiwipe lid. I think I used a coat hanger to plunge the drain tubes. The pan collects dust and what not and whatever it is that sits in it dries up and becomes like giant flakes that float....... it's a fun project, aint no doubt but it's a Rover, it's supposed to fun.

this may sound nuts but i noticed the expansion tank 3/4 full, when i popped the hood the car is sitting nose down on slight incline, took it out and drove with ac on high and then parked it facing up on incline and waited for it to cool, just checked and coolant level is back in middle.maybe a pocket of air and after driving and t-stat opening it filled back in,parked it angled up so we'll see, appreciate imput

The cores are under the car inside those outlet nipples in the trans hump
