Default Speaker Cover Replacements

Hi Everyone,

very much interested in maintaining the same look of my D1, but almost all of my speaker covers are cracked and falling apart. Does anyone have any knowledge of a good source to get new of these? Or even third party very close (very close) look alikes?

Reach out to Paul Grant. I was able to source a replacement for the front grill (as pictured) from him. classicroverparts@gmail.com

I have purchased a bunch of parts from Paul and have never been disappointed.

For rear speaker grills I noticed these on Amazon but have not tried them yet.

Thanks Walt!

Those amazon options look pretty dang close, I ordered some and I’ll let you know.

I’ll contact Paul too, thanks for the resource. Hoping he might also have some door lock rod clips for a cargo door (none of the dealers have so far)

Facmogu Speaker Covers

so, those speaker covers are probably the closest replica I’ve seen to the original, but they still have important differences:

1. The Bezel is about half the width of the OEM
2. The size I got is not big enough and won’t fit (4.88”/124mm), but they do have a 6.02” so maybe that would work
3. The finish on the bezel is gloss while the OEM is mat

Good info. I like the factory matte look as it blends better with the interior. I suppose you could easily paint them with a can of flat black.

Mine were cracked to pieces and had chunks missing, so I just glued them back together and used J.B. plastic putty to remake the missing 1/4 inch chunks where the screws are.

But yeah, you could easily find replacements online and not be so fussy like me!

Yeah, I’ve super glued them together a couple of times, but it seems like a new piece falls off every time I need to remove the door card. I’ll have to take a look on eBay.
