Default NO SPARK? Spider Box? Sensors? Help!!!

Hello all Disco Lovers,

Well it all started on my way to work, stoped to grab a bite to eat, sitting in line on a hot day 85f 90f. Truck stumbled but stayed running. Pulled out drove 1/4 mile parked and worked 8 hr. Drove home idle was a little rough but accelerated good but when i got to a steady 65mph it would hick up, have power loose power. Was like that for fe days, So i parked it. Truck sat a week, i thought it was the throttle position sensor. Got it put it in, opened my passenger side door with my key locks went up and down a few times. Went to start it. it cranked but no fire. so then i thought no fuel, bought fuel pump put that in went to start no fire. So that got me into thinking of spark, put new crankshaft sensor in. So went to start truck cranks over fast and strong but no fire. So then i started looking online and read about this spider box, and that got me thinking of when my locks went up and down a few times. so ripped dash apart and dont see it. so now i am stuck and need some help. its a 1998 disco 1 50th A.E 200,576miles. i have owned the truck for 5 years with no major problems.

Thanks Rover714

There's no Spider in a 1998 Disco. I think 1996 was the last year for it. After that, it's function was incorporated into the alarm system.

You should scan for codes. Borrow an OBDII scanner.

Do you have fuel pressure of 32-34 PSI in position 2 of ignition key at the fuel rail fitting on passenger side? Inertia switch on firewall reset?

When a spare spark plug is attached and placed on the manifold (don't keep holding it) and you crank truck, do you get spark? Frequently crank shaft position sensors are incorrectly re-mounted, and you still won't get spark. Block+sensor+spacers+nuts. And there are things like fuses to check.

Alarm light on dash lit in any fashion?

Truck will run on default values if cam position sensor is unplugged.

Only a major league pitcher can afford to throw parts at it....

No, unplugging sensor just adds to the mix. You have how many PSI fuel pressure?

Also check fuse 7 underhood, it would knock out all fuel injectors via the multi-function relay box. (you can have spark, and pressure, but if you can't squirt not much is gonna happen).
