Default squeaking belt...

so my belt has been squeaking constantly, I just got it a few weeks, ago and recently did the HGs, and replaced the water pump. It seems like its coming from the power steering pulley but I took it off and checked it and its facing the right way, the belt looks fine, but I guess it could be too tight?

I'll post of pics later when I get a chance....any thing I should check?

squealing usually means loose not tight
is it not serpentine?
if not..
rule of thumb on belt tension is a 90 degree twist on the longest run
if you can just manage to twist it to that - without killing yourself - you should be good.

If the new belt has been squealing since it was new, it is the belt. And if it is the belt, being a Land Rover has nothing to do with it.
I have seen many new, bad belts over the years. Easiest thing is to try another brand, which usually means buying somewhere else.
I went through 3 sets of belts on a 4runner I had a few years ago. I got my money back after the 3rd, bought belts at a different store, never made a sound.
Have done the same on several vehicles over the years.
Bad batch of belts, cheap overall quality, name brands beiging made cheap. Lots of reasons for it.
If this isn't your situation, I hope it helps someone.
I hate a squealing belt.

After two different brands squeaked, ended up going with a gatorback. Only time it makes a noise now is in morning during startup if it has been raining.

Ha!
I had one do the same!
High humidty or rain, and it would squeal for a couple seconds first start up of the day, and no more.

I happened upon this thread and mine has done this for a long time after engine repair. My truck does not start sometimes and have replaced battery, alternator, starter and still will not start. I asked mechanics to check loose or loose wire anywhere. They just keep replacing parts. Could this be problem?

Thanks rover guys

No, a bad belt would not prevent starting.

My belt is slicing on the inner side just replaced it today and can’t figure out what the deal is... I’m hoping it’s just a “bad new belt” I don’t see any obstructions to make it shred. So confused.
