I read in another really old thread that was never finished or given a solution that the power steering pump can begin to fall apart after time and in turn push the pulley forwarded causing a misalignment. Does this sound like something you all have heard before. Because it would make sense to me at this point.
Another thing...I have gotten a crappy belt before and it started to break apart after a couple hundred miles. It was one of my "I will get the cheap one" mistakes. If you have the old belt see if there is any damage that mirrors new one.

yup mirrors the new one I kept it and placed it inside the rover with a couple tools Incase this one breaks while on the road.
So I figured it out... my PSP pulley was pushed out. I pushed it back in and it aligned.
BUT it pops in and out by hand very easily... is that normal ?
should I still replace the pump?
NOT normal, and yes 100% it's time to replace the PS Pump.
New pump is in along with a new tensioner, and idler pulleys. Filled her up with CHF 11s and everything seems to run good. I’ve only driven it about half a mile but I can already tell a big difference.
I decided to take the old steering pump apart and noticed a very small piece of shrapnel. Have no idea where it’s from I’m thinking some kind of pin or rod but it didn’t look good.
job was easy considering you have all the right tools.
amazon had every part I needed.
thanks for all the input.
if it blows up I’ll make sure to let you guys know.
