Default Strange Fuel Delivery Issue?

Hi all,

Have this strange problem...95, Disco I - 5 Speed....

When driving - everything is fine - Start to go up a hill, and all of a sudden it acts like it is out of gas. After this starts - it doesn't run right from then on.. (sputters, and has no power). I literally have to downshift, and floor it to keep it moving.

When I pull over - let it cool down...start it up and drive again- everything is fine. Runs perfect.

This is only an intermittent problem. It does not happen every time I drive, nor everytime I go up a hill. Does seem to be in 5th gear when it happens most times...and it is always after it is warmed up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Muskrat

Bad crank sensor or VSS is going to be my guess.
But first lets check the fuel pressure the next time it happens.
