Strange Noise coming from or near front left wheel
Hello everyone, I just got my first LR Discovery about two and a half weeks ago so I'm very green. It's a 1998 and has 106,000 miles on it. The first week was fantastic. Its the only Land Rover I've ever driven and I fell in love with the thing almost instantly. I'm not what you would call mechanically inclined but I can do simple things like oil changes, etc... After the first week I noticed a strange noise coming from either the left front tire or somewhere near it when I would decelerate at low speeds, almost like a wheel bearing going bad or something and seemed to occur at a certain point in the wheel's rotation. The noise would go away if I turned sharp left or right or accelerated. It also would keep making the noise if I took it out of gear. Its an automatic.. I did change the front diff oil but to no avail, it seems to be getting worse. Today I took it to a mechanic, it made the noise but he said he checked everything out and has no idea what it could be... Said I should take it to a land rover dealer... I've searched this forum but haven't found anything like my problem so I apologize if its already on here somewhere. Please help... Also please let me know if you need more information.
