Hi
I am new to the forum. I have a 1997 Disco 1 with two sun roofs. I am looking for a pair of alluminum inserts that slide in the track to open and close the window.Anybody have some to sell or steer me to the right place to get them.
Thanks
If yours are only bent/warped like that, I have had some luck “repairing” them in a vise with gentle use of a propane torch. Just gotta soften it a little and use a crescent wrench to gently lever each slider straight again. Make sure you don’t heat any of the contact nubs where the plastic slider squares fit because the heat will cause them to become misshapen. Gentle clamping in the vise too, so you don’t mar the other contact surfaces.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate the feedback.. I had one bent quite a bit. It snapped. The ones on my front window were bent a little but not enough to impair the function.A couple plastic pieces were gone so I made some new ones. Now the front one works flawlessly. If I cant find any used or new ones I am going to make 2 new ones.If I go that rout I will post pictures of my creation..
