Default Super Gaz Lift?

So I hear so much about OME and Ghetto FJ80.. but what about Super Gaz? AB sells them and I know AB is a great company but I never hear about these products:

Super Gaz!

I have no idea - but I DO know that Claire will NOT perform like the one in the Video by just bolting this kit on!

Darn and I was hoping to have the World-Renowned Ellesmere Championship suspension..

But has anybody tried these out? It is about $200-300 cheaper than OME and since Pro Comps suck.. idk, I'll wait for imput Since I have zilch experience in suspension kits on these anyways haha

If you've got the cash go for it. I just dont see why anyone would pay 519.00 for not even a 2" lift. Yes, you get shocks granted but for a 2" lift or less you dont even really need new shocks. I wouldnt say FJ80 lift is "Ghetto". I bet if a company took a bunch of FJ80 coils, painted them up real pretty like and sold them as a "Kit" they would sell and people would be happy and reccomend them. I think the stigma that they came from a different stock production vehicle makes them "Ghetto". To each their own, your money is yours, mine is mine. At the end of the day at the end of the trail with my "ghetto" lift and your "real" lift we are both at the end of the trail having had a great day and good times.

AKdisco, not to hijack thread but how is the ride with the FJ springs? Im looking at buying another DI for the old lady and I wanna put a little lift under it, it wont be offroaded just something to make it look a little better. I have my old lift out of my truck but she hated the ride it was way to stiff and now she hates my 5" because she cant get in it LOL but its a lot smoother ride.

Well first off.....having owned, built, wheeled, and spent a million miles in a leaf sprung vehicle I gotta say that coils are AMAZING to me. I will say that with the FJ80 coils in the rear and rear disco coils up front my disco DOES ride better than when it was stock. Its not a life altering difference but noticable AND I thought my stock coiled disco rode awesome, lifted a little with my set up is even better!. One thing you gotta ask yourself is that if your NOT competing professionally OR running the amazon challenge or the Camel trophy then do you REALLY need the $600-$1,000 suspension set up?. Ok, Maybe you might get a 10% better ride than me with my ghetto lift or maybe 1-2" more inches of suspension travel but like said IS IT THAT CRITICAL? Is it going to stop you from getting out and getting your disco dirty on a nice summer day with your family? No its not and if your buddy with the high dollar kit wants to give you shi* because he crawled 4 more inches higher than you on that rock for his poser shot then you need new friends. Having just mouth vomited I say now............play around with your choices, experiment, OR just pony up and go expensive. For my Disco or my wifes, I'd do what i did all over again.

I guess I need to make a disclaimer. I havnt experimented with lifting a disco over the 2-3" that I did. I do know that anything over 3" or so you begin NEEDING aftermarket items due to driveline corrections, caster, vibrations etc etc. In these certain instances where the safety and handling of your rig are concerned I advocate purchasing PROVEN aftermarket components to help get your disco safe and driving normally again. I'm not opposed to And/or judge anyone for spending money on "real" lift kits, like I said, if you've got it awesome, I dont. I have 3 kids with a 4th on the way, I must go cheaper or I dont go at all. All Im saying is that for 2" or so you dont have to spend a bunch of money, I was merely telling you all of my own personal results, I am happy and have money in my wallet still.......well $5.19 atleast.....yeah a little over a gallon of fuel FML.

Yeah I know all about the high dollar suspension setups I probably have about 3-4 times in suspension and parts then what I payed for the truck, and I have enough extra parts sitting in the garage to build another lifted DI but the springs thats why I was asking about the ride. Plus its gonna be the old ladys truck so I'll let her decide on how she wants to build it (its definately gonna have to have some serious bumpers lol)
