Question Switch window up/down : diode replacement

Good evening !
When switching front lamps on, all 4 those switches on central panel between driver and passenger are illuminated. However, in one switch, the specific diode is blown. So I took out the switch and carefully with a smell screwdriver parted the two black plastic components. The diode has a green soft plastic transparent cover that can be taken off, but when raising the diode out of his socket, both electrical conducts are broken ! What are the specifications for that diode ? And where can I buy it

Showing the diode (between soft green cap and switch) withouten broken contacts.
?

Would a D2 window switch work in a D1?

Hello,

As good as I’m informed, early D2’s have a lot of components common with the latest D1’s !
At first sight at your picture, I woud say, yes.
But let me first repair the switch of my D1, so I can carefully in detail compare both switches.
I ‘ll post a message about it over a week !

See you,
PierroDisco

Thumbs up Bulb replacement succeeded !

Good evening,

I’ve replaced the blown bulb in the window switch...and it gives now a bright backlight. Remark that the replacing Metronomics bulbs aren’t as great as about 2/3 of the Lenght/Width of the original bulbs, but you can carefully slide the reused green boot, now a lot to large, over the new bulb.

But now I think the “inside” of my switch doesn’t meet the details of your picture ; my bulb and boot are completely drown in the black socket, not as yours, and so some other details “at first sight” different.
Maybe, you can learn about the switch socket from this picture !

Thumbs up Trying to attach the picture !

Hello,

Yesterday evening, I couldn’t load the picture (to many Mb’s and format bot supported - HEIF, token with Apple Notepad).
So, I saved the picture as ZIP-file.
maybe it does load now (under attachments)
